Current Interests

My interests are somewhat broad and diverse, with several special loves.

Theatre

One of the best things about living in the Seattle area is the quality of theatre.  On average, we attend 2-3 plays a month.

Andy and I are regular season ticket subscribers to the Renton Civic Theatre.  It's quite a fun community theatre and so very close to where we live and Andy works that it's extremely convenient to attend regularly.

We're also enthusiastic attendees of Seattle Repertory Theatre, ACT Theatre, the 5th Avenue Theatre, and more.

Almost every year, we also visit the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, a truly top-notch experience.  This year, we saw Taming of the Shrew, Distracted, Tartuffe, and On the Razzle. Of these, I'd have to say that Tom Stoppard's On the Razzle was most definitely my favorite.

Travel

Going different places and seeing interesting things is such a customary part of my life that when I think of travel, I think of longer-distance, extraordinary events.

Most recently, Andy and I took a week-long cruise to Alaska with Norwegian Cruise Lines on the Norwegian Star. We had an absolutely fantastic time. Highlights include the Second City Improve performance and workshop, the interactive Murder Mystery Dinner, and the many wildlife sightings.

A few of the places in the United States I've visited or lived: Albuquerque, NM; Arlington, TX; Ashland, OR; Chicago, IL; Columbus, OH; Dallas, TX; Dayton, OH; Detroit, MI; Ft. Worth, TX; Indianapolis, IN; Miami, FL; Mt. Ranier, WA; Mt. St. Helens, OR; New York, NY; Portland, OR; St. Louis, MO; San Diego, CA; Seattle, WA; Washington, D.C., Worcester, MA, Yosemite National Park, CA.

Countries I've visited: Australia, Canada, various Caribbean Islands, England, France, New Zealand.
